1929 Memorial Sanctuary

Museum

Kwanto was approached by Salmond Reed Architects to provide a maintenance estimate for the Memorial Sanctuary located in the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

A major factor for this project was the preservation of as many original elements from the copper-lead light windows, through to retaining as much of the original plaster as possible. Being located on the second floor of the museum, the access to the main roof was quite limited when conducting our site visit.

Providing our services meant The Head of Building and Building Infrastructure of the museum was confidently able to take our estimate to the board for funding.

The end result is that our maintenance estimate was within the budgeted allowance for this spectacular building.
