Introducing Jo Butler

Jo

We are pleased to announce the addition of Jo Butler to the team at Kwanto.  Jo is based in the Auckland office and brings a wealth of construction knowledge from different parts of New Zealand and abroad.

Jo moved from his home in Central Otago late last year.  Moving north has meant a change in scenery as well as a career shift for Jo and although the profession of quantity surveying is a relatively recent enhancement to his tool belt, he has significant experience in the construction industry.

After working as a teacher for many years, Jo's passion for construction led him to study carpentry.  He has spent more than 10 years gaining valuable experience in renovation, restoration and new builds. He has completed construction projects in the USA, UK, throughout Central Otago, Auckland and recently worked on construction of The Hobbit movie set in Matamata.

Jo's enthusiasm for achieving a high quality result and his eye for detail are perfectly suited to quantity surveying.  His interest in the profession was sparked while working on high end architecturally designed homes.  He was inspired by a colleague who not only strived for perfection in building but also perfection in pricing.

"Success in the construction industry is about the price" says Jo, "everything needs to be measured".  Jo believes it is vital that the client feels that they have paid the right price for the result that has been achieved.

Kwanto's vision of growth and value of quality, teamwork and customer focus were key in Jo's decision to join the company.  Since starting in late June, he has been impressed by Kwanto's systems for gathering and documenting cost information which is drawn on routinely to provide clients with accurate reports.

We have no doubt that Jo's knowledge, experience and determination to provide the best service will benefit both existing and future clients enormously.
